Workshop 57 began long before it had a name.

I cut my first piece of wood in Mr. Esserman’s woodworking class at Hefner Middle School in Oklahoma City. I was twelve years old and immediately hooked. The feeling of taking a simple piece of wood and turning it into something useful, something new, captured my imagination.

That fascination never went away.

For the next 45 years, woodworking remained a big part of my life. I experimented, made mistakes, learned lessons and moved forward. With these lessons under my belt, I built furniture, solved problems, repaired broken furniture, restored things worth saving, and kept discovering just how much could be created with grit, a good idea and a little imagination.

Then, at the age of 57, I decided it was time to turn that lifelong passion into something more.

Today, Workshop 57 calls Argyle, Texas home. From this small North Texas town, I design, build, restore and ship custom pieces wherever they need to go.

But Workshop 57 isn't about making my ideas.

Maybe you need a piece of furniture designed specifically for a space in your home. Maybe you have an antique that's been in your family for generations and deserves another generation of life. Maybe you've sketched something on a napkin that doesn't exist yet.

Those are exactly the kinds of projects I want to hear about.
